How CGF came to exist.
CGF started as a Delete USDA REAP grant writing firm. We won over 85% of the applications we submitted. Federal grants covering up to 50% of a project's cost, with a process that removed every bureaucratic headache from the client's plate.
Then federal volatility made federal grant programs unpredictable. Funding cycles became inconsistent. Clients couldn't build a plan around a grant that might or might not be funded in a given year.
What we saw during that period was the bigger problem. The clients coming to us for energy project were almost universally leaving other money on the table. Their contractor knew one program. Their CPA knew another. Their state economic development office knew a third. Nobody was combining them, sequencing them, or identifying what the total stack was actually worth.
That gap is what CGF is built to close.
A few things we believe that most people in this industry won't say out loud.
Business owners want to know what something costs and what it returns. We never lead with environmental impact or sustainability messaging. Those might matter to you personally. They are not how you make a financial decision.
Any firm that tells you otherwise is lying. What we can control is the process: the quality of the application, the relationship with the program administrator, the documentation, and the timing. That is what the 85%+ win rate is built on. Process, not promises.
By then, half the opportunity is already gone. Construction-start dates are missed. Depreciation elections are not coordinated with the tax credit basis. Grant applications are filed after the contractor is selected without competitive documentation. We get involved early because that is when it matters.
